After about fifteen years working experience in landscape construction and landscape design Dipl. Ing., Master of International Landscape Architecture (M.A.) Andreas Thon participated in the Research and Development department of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Bernburg, Germany for nearly four years.

Research fields were biological water treatment for bathing facilities and its planting design under supervision of Prof. Dr. Kircher and independent and self consistent Research and Development in the fields of water retention, filtration substrates, irrigation and planting design, especially for biological purification centers.

IWB is a Private Institute for Research and Development for Irrigation, biological water treatment and water retention and maintains its own test laboratory and research fields.

By advanced training and an International network with other Research centers precise analysis and developments are verified.
